Genuine horn-rimmed glasses are made from the horn of Asian water buffaloes—a natural material that is as rare as it is distinctive. Grains, lines, and shades: Each of our horn frames is unique, grown rather than cast.
Horn is not only particularly lightweight and skin-friendly—it also wears differently. Warmer than metal, finer than acetate. And over time, it develops a patina that can't be replicated—only experienced.

Buffalo horn grows like fingernails—layer by layer, year after year. It's made of keratin , a natural, durable protein.
The horn comes exclusively from farm animals – it is obtained after their natural death or from responsible husbandry.
In a precise, artisanal process, the material is soaked, pressed into sheets, and then milled into frames by our specialists – with patience, experience, and a steady hand.
The best pieces come from the middle section of the horn – where the structure is densest and the grain most beautiful.
How do you care for horn-rimmed glasses?
Horn is alive. It changes over time—that's what makes it so fascinating.
To keep it beautiful, you don’t need chemicals, but respect:
No salt water, no aggressive cleaning agents.
If the surface becomes too dull, it can be professionally refinished – of course, we can do it for you.
Important: Horn is sturdy, but less flexible than plastic. Glazing requires experts, not hobbyists . Inexperienced hands can ruin a horn frame.

Are horn-rimmed glasses also available as sunglasses?
Yes. All of our horn frames are also available with tinted lenses—or can be made as custom sunglasses.
